Earlier this week we wrote about how Megan Fox was the biggest secret in SEO and how writing about Megan can earn you hundreds and thousands of visitors and links; now here’s the proof.
Just a few short minutes after that Megan Fox post went live on our website, StuckOn ranked near the top of Google News for searches on ‘SEO’ and of course ‘Megan Fox’ – as you can see below.
We didn’t quite get the top spot in Google News for ‘Megan Fox’ because of a certain story involving Rihanna.
Not content with just ranking for Megan Fox, the photo we used of Megan (that picture from the first Transformers movie, where she’s looking under Bumblebee’s hood) appeared on the left hand side of the result.
Pictures say a thousand words, and that picture probably says several thousand. As you can imagine, our traffic spiked that day and we’ve picked up one or two nice links from it, which is the long term goal of content.
But how was it done?
You first need to know a few things:
- How to be accepted in Google News as a publisher
- How to optimise an article or news story for your chosen keywords
- How to utilise images in posts and optimise them
- How to create images that Google News wants to show
Alternatively, you could just speak to someone who already knows how to do this.
