Patreon, for example, is very quick, easy and free to set up. The downsides with Patreon are that you have practically no customisation options with it, and it takes a very hefty cut from your earnings.
Each platform has its own limitations, but perhaps the biggest one with all of them is simply that you do not own them. The membership site you create using one of these platforms is NOT yours. The data is not yours. You could find the terms change at any time, the costs could change or even what you’re doing could suddenly become against their rules.
