We’re Looking For A Junior Web Designer

Due to company growth, we have a new opportunity for a web designer to join our team in Ellesmere Port.

Web Designer

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and building websites using WordPress, or similar content management systems. Candidates should have a portfolio of website designs that show creative flair. Candidates should understand the difference in designing for mobiles, tablets and desktops.

This role will suit an ambitious individual, keen to progress within a fast-moving young company.

Commercial experience is desired, but is not essential; training will be provided.

A formal qualification in design or website design is not required, but examples of past work are; please be sure to include URLs with your application.

Duties of role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building websites and marketing funnels for clients, setting up and updating social media accounts, social media ad campaigns and updating existing websites. The candidate will need to liaise with Account Managers and, occasionally, directly with clients, be involved in client meetings, work on the formation of web design briefs and build websites to an agreed specification.

Skills (Required)

  • Use of WordPress (or similar)• Basic HTML
  • Adobe Photoshop (or similar graphics editing software)
  • High level of attention to detail
  • High level of PC literacy – MS Word, Excel and Office
  • Experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

Skills (Desired)

Knowledge of or experience in any of the below would be advantageous, but training can be given:

  • CSS
  • WooCommerce
  • Experience with different CMS, such as Drupal & Joomla
  • Experience of Click Funnels
  • Experience of MailChimp
  • Facebooks Ads
  • Twitter Ads
  • LinkedIn Ads
  • Experience registering and managing domain names
  • Knowledge of affiliate schemes

Salary: £16,500 – £19,500 dependent on experience + bonus. Please include salary expectations with your cover letter

Duration: Permanent
Hours: 35hrs per week (Mon – Fri 9am-5pm)

PHP / SEO Developer Required

Due to company growth, we have an opportunity for a PHP developer with strong PHP, MySQL and CSS skills and an interest in website design and development.

Duties of role

This is not an exhaustive list, but within this role you will work on a variety of projects, including WordPress development. Duties will include working with plug-ins, debugging code and customising templates. You will be involved in web design projects and development, whilst considering SEO implications and remaining aware of cross-browser compatibility. You may also be involved in:

  • Designing, developing and building websites/web applications that may include bespoke applications
  • Working with plug-ins, debugging code and customising templates
  • Designing requests such as newsletter templates, social media profile templates, etc
  • Setting up and running social media campaigns

The role requires an individual with an eye for detail, a firm understanding of the Internet and strong English spelling and grammar skills would be an advantage.

Candidates should be well organised and have the confidence and ability to work to deadlines.


  • Experience of programming with PHP5 and MySQL
  • Good standard of written English – spelling and grammar
  • Experience with Internet CMS systems, such as WordPress is desirable
  • Experience of JavaScript would be advantageous


  • A strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility is essential
  • Understanding of the Internet and search engines
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver is desirable
  • Knowledge or experience of different website hosting platforms and FTP is also desirable

Technical Skills:

  • Strong HTML and CSS skills are essential
  • High level of PC literacy – MS Word, Excel and Office
  • The ability to research new advancements and new technical approaches
  • Ability to focus on complex, technical problems and deliver solutions
  • Demonstrate consideration for SEO implications and cross-browser compatibility

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, with colleagues and clients
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and a can-do attitude
  • Ability to think creatively with a proven record of innovation
  • Ability to analyse and identify requirements and work towards solutions
  • Strong organisation and project management skills and driven to achieve results within tight timelines
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the internet and highly self-motivated
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a development team
  • Comfortable working in a small, friendly environment
