More detail added to Google Search Console error reports

Google has released more information to help users understand what some of the rich snippet errors in the Search Console platform mean.

The Google Search Console Platform is an essential tool for looking at how Google crawls your website, and it allows you to look for any issues that could be fixed to improve your rankings on Google.

What are “rich results”?

Rich results are the different formats that can be seen on Google SERPs (search engine result page), which can include featured snippets, star ratings and FAQs within the search results.

The new update has been released to make resolving rich results errors easier and will provide the reasons why the error is occurring. This will help SEOs, especially in cases where issues are not easy to fix.

The following Google Search Console issues have had more details released about them:

• Invalid object
• Type conversion failed
• Invalid attribute enum value
• Invalid attribute string length
• Out of numeric range

How does the new update help?

The new update on Google Search Console will allow SEOs to more easily adjust a website’s structured data so that the site is able to be shown as a rich snippet in search results.

But what is “structured data”?

Structured data, sometimes known as Schema, is code in the backend of your site used by search engines like Google to find out information about your business, and it also makes it easier for search engines to understand the data. Using structured data can help your website to be shown in rich results, although it is not guaranteed.
