You might not quite be in the mood for Christmas yet, but there are plenty of themes and hashtags you can jump onto between now and then. We’ve picked out three that just about any business can use for the October 10th to 16th week:
1. Face Your Fears Day
When?: Tuesday, October 11th
What is it?: A day to do something you’re afraid of
Perfect for: Business owners, public speakers, adventure providers
How to mark it: Anyone who has started a business no doubt overcame fears to do so, whether it was a lack of confidence or the fear of failure. Share your stories and invite contributions from others. It might also have potential for anyone who offers adventures and challenges like zip-wiring or marathons, as these are activities many people would like to do but need to get over their reservations
Hashtag: #FaceYourFearsDay, #FaceYourFears
2. Train Your Brain Day
When?: Thursday, October 13th
What is it?: Recognises the power of the mind and the importance of keeping it in shape
Perfect for: Educators, coaches, mental health workers
How to mark it: Nothing gets people active on social media like a quiz or conundrum. Give a few anagrams or cryptic clues of words to do with your business. Alternatively, share learning tips or stories about how you keep your brain busy.
Hashtag: #TrainYourBrainDay #TrainYourBrain
3. National Dictionary Day
When?: Sunday, October 16th
What is it?: The birthday of Noah Webster of Webster’s Dictionary fame, and a wider celebration of words
Perfect for: Writers, teachers, publishers
How to mark it: We love words at Engage Web, and anyone can use them to talk about their business. Share an industry-specific dictionary word or two to educate people on what you do. You can see the most recent additions to the Oxford English Dictionary here, so you might be able to make it topical by finding a newly indexed word related to your sector.
Hashtag: #DictionaryDay, #NationalDictionaryDay
