Idiot boasts of victim’s death on Facebook

John-PalmerA man from Warrington, in Cheshire, uploaded this photo to his Facebook page boasting of how he was responsible for the death of another man following an attack by his dog.

Twenty-six-year-old John Palmer uploaded the photo of himself laughing at the death of Simon Whittall, while he held up a newspaper that reported the attack. Thirty-nine-year-old Simon Whittall was beaten to the ground and kicked, before dying of his head injuries.

His assailant, John Palmer, commented online:

“I’ve seen the report in two newspapers. If it goes in a third then it will be a hat-trick.”

This is another example of someone uploading something to a social networking website such as Facebook without realising that the world (and his dog, presumably) is able to view it. This photo, and Palmer’s comments, were also reported in The Sun recently.

Last week, John Palmer was in court in Liverpool, facing charges of GBH – which he admitted. However, he was not convicted of murder or manslaughter.

After leaving court Palmer issued a statement that read:

“I had a tear in my eye coz I wnt guilty and there’s a chance my dog will get put dwn. If I had done the trail and lost I could of got 7yrs. Sum people say I got away with murder.”
