Google Analytics is a popular free analytics platform that is used on many websites. Around 28.1 million websites use Google Analytics in total. However, many people are unaware that you can add users to your Google Analytics so that they can also see your website statistics.
Why would you add someone to your Google Analytics?
You may be working with a Digital Marketing Agency, like us at Engage Web, who need to have access to your Google Analytics to track visitors and conversions on your website.
There are currently two versions of Google Analytics: Universal Analytics and Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Universal Analytics is being phased out in July 2023.
How to add users to Universal Analytics
1. Login to your Google Analytics and navigate to your Google Analytics platform:
2. Click on ‘Admin’ on the left-hand side:
3. Then click on ‘Account Access Management’ in the first column:
4. Click the blue ‘+’ button in the top right corner:
5. Then click on ‘Add users’ in the dropdown:
6. Enter the Google Account of the person you need to give access to. This needs to be a Google Account, otherwise you can’t add the person to Google Analytics. Then you need to select what role you’d like to give to the user your adding, and then click ‘Add’ the top right.
You have now added the person to Google Analytics. They should get an email to say they have been given access.
