The visibility and usability of your website is vital for bringing in conversions.
More often than not, the first page your visitors will see is your homepage, so including certain features will be imperative to catch their attention, as well as giving them what they are looking for.
Here are some features to consider when it comes to putting together an effective homepage.
Clear message
It is important that you make your visitors aware of what it is you do, and what you can offer them. This will let them know immediately whether your company is a good match for what they’re looking for.
Identify your products or services
Tying into the previous point, you should include a dedicated section on what you specifically have to offer. This can be a short description or even bullet points to give the visitor an overview of your products and/or services. These should then link to specific pages, which will encourage users to stay on the website.
Testimonials section
While this isn’t essential to include on the homepage, it can be beneficial. It is a good idea to have a testimonials section on the homepage that displays 3 or 4 of the most recent testimonials, with a link to the dedicated testimonials page that will display all of them. Having this on the homepage will essentially act as evidence that you provide what you offer.
Clear call to action
Whether this is a contact form submission, a phone call or a purchase, the main objective of your site should be to gain a conversion from as many visitors as possible.
The best way to encourage people to do so would be to use clear and obvious calls to action. This could be something as simple as a button leading to the contact page, but it should be clear and obvious without taking up too much of the page and appearing spammy.
