Facebook has announced a revamp and rename of its Preferred Marketing Developer programme, part of which will see Facebook’s partners reorganised by their areas of strength. The renaming, to Facebook Marketing Partners, is due to happen early next year.
The social media giant is ever evolving, and this change will see internet marketing experts gain better access to Facebook’s ‘ads application-programming interface’. This revamp will see software development professionals become able to develop improved marketing systems for brands using Facebook.
The social media platform has introduced the categorisation in a recent post on its ‘Facebook for Business’ page. Facebook list the categories as:
• Ad Technology
• Media Buying
• Facebook Exchange (FBX)
• Community Management
• Content Marketing
• Small Business Solutions
• Audience Onboarding
• Audience Data Providers
• Measurement
Facebook has explained that the changes will assist businesses in scaling their marketing campaigns on Facebook. The changes to the ‘Preferred Marketing Developer’ system will ensure marketing experts are able to match brands to partners using the programme.
As of early next year, the programme will become ‘Facebook Marketing Partners’ and will offer marketers easier ways to find partnerships that are more specific to their needs. Additionally, marketing execs will be able to improve their targeted campaigns.
The changes to the programme will also allocate a single badge to partners who meet or surpass the standards of the new Facebook partner initiative.
For businesses already tied into a Facebook partner, they will be able to continue the partnership as normal. Meanwhile, for those businesses seeking new partners, the changes are intended to make the process simpler.
