A revamped web browser is to be the replacement in Android smartphones. The existing web browser will be replaced by an improved version of Google Chrome, the desktop product. Chrome for phone will begin a “beta” trial this week and could be launched by Spring 2012.
The browser will link to the desktop of the user, permitting unlimited pages to stay open. The new development is an attempt at reducing the market share of Microsoft which has dropped to a 37 percent share, according to data provided by StatCounter. Chrome for desktops was introduced in October 2008, and now has 200 million users all over the world. Firefox was relegated to third most popular browser when Google Chrome rose to second place with a 29 percent market share.
The new Chrome for phone will permit desktop users to use their smartphone to recall the last web pages, which were viewed on their desktop. The development will allow users to recall work from their office desktop, or continue to work on an office project while on the move. Every couple of minutes, the Chrome browsers belonging to a user will synchronise. To use Chrome for phone users must have the Ice Cream Sandwich or version 4.0 of the Android phone operating system. During the trial period, only the Android phones will have the browser.
Google continues to work hard to secure Internet domination, which is why it is a crucial aspect of any search engine optimisation campaign. Whether your business is in Chester or Merseyside, Google will be an integral part of your SEO campaign.
