Wrights Services

Wrights Services brings a huge range of skilled trades together under one roof, helping businesses with everything from plumbing, gas and building work to fire protection, water hygiene and marine services.

The problem was that people wouldn’t necessarily have known that from their old website, which no longer reflected the scale of the business, the quality of its work or the level of care that goes into getting every job right. Wrights Services needed a new website that could show just how much the team does, while giving important areas such as safety, compliance and industry standards the prominence they deserve.

With such a wide range of services to cover, one of the biggest challenges was making everything easy to understand. Wrights Services often gives customers access to several different trades without the hassle of managing multiple contractors, so the website needed to communicate that breadth without feeling busy or overwhelming.

Visually, we also wanted to move well away from the traditional, corporate look of the old site.

The marine side of the business gave us the perfect place to start. Wrights Services works closely with ships and vessels, so we took inspiration from that world and introduced curves throughout the design, softening the layout and giving pages a much more modern sense of movement. Those curves help tie the site together while giving a subtle nod to the shapes and movement associated with life on the water.

Combined with Wrights Services’ strong brand colours, which are used throughout to lift sections and key elements off the page, the result feels much more distinctive without losing the professional image the business needs.

There’s plenty going on beneath the surface too. With services covering everything from everyday maintenance and repairs to specialist areas where safety and compliance are critical, the website had to make detailed information clear and easy to find. Accreditations and standards are given greater visibility, while individual service pages give Wrights Services the space to properly explain what its team can do.

There was even a small personal connection to the project for us. Wrights Services is based at the Essar Manufacturing Complex in Ellesmere Port, on a site with a bit of history for our team too – Nick’s late Dad spent much of his working life around the former Shell complex at Stanlow and Thornton. There’s every chance a few of the longer-serving faces around Wrights crossed paths with him at some point, although we’ll probably never know for sure! This link made working on the site feel that little bit closer to home.

The finished website now does a much better job of showing the business Wrights Services has grown into: a sizeable, experienced team capable of taking on work across a wide range of commercial, industrial and specialist environments, while still keeping the process straightforward for its customers. It feels modern, professional and unmistakably Wrights, with a design that finally gives the breadth of its services room to shine.

You could say the old website has well and truly sailed off into the sunset, leaving Wrights Services with something altogether more shipshape.
