One of the gems of Facebook Ads is the wealth of targeting options you have at your disposal – from options like job titles and education level to hobbies and interests, you can really drill down and tailor your ads to your target audience.
However, there are two targeting options in particular that can really boost your chances of success if you’re an ecommerce business or you’re looking to target business owners or decision makers. Read on to find out what these are and why they’re so useful.
Business page admins
Not everyone puts their job title or company on Facebook – in fact, many places of work actively discourage this to avoid any social media activity negatively reflecting the business. This can make it tricky at times if you’re wanting to target decision makers in a business, for example.
There is one targeting option that can help, and that’s ‘business page admins’. The reason for this is that anyone who’s an admin of a Facebook Business Page is most likely a business owner or, at the very least, works in a position of trust and influence within a business – and it works no matter if the person has their job listed on their profile or not.
Engaged shoppers
Some people are understandably wary about purchasing products from ads. If they see an ad for a product or service they’re interested in, but it’s a company they’ve never heard of, they can be put off from clicking any links or buying any products. Some people just automatically think of ads themselves as untrustworthy.
This is where the ‘engaged shoppers’ targeting option comes in. Found in the ‘Behaviours’ section of the detailed targeting options, an engaged shopper is someone who’s actively clicked on the ‘Shop Now’ button on an ad in the past week, meaning they’re more likely to do it again and, as a result, more likely to make a purchase.
