Believe it or not, we are fast approaching the end of the year.
Here, we look back at some of the most interesting and effective website design trends and features from 2023.
Scrolling animations
Scrolling animations are a great and unique way to maintain the engagement of the user, as they are in control of the animation. As the user scrolls with their mouse, finger or trackpad, an animation will take place, often making something grow or change shape as you get further down the page. This is a feature we have used on a couple of our sites, including Core Social, which features a tree that grows as you scroll. Click the link below to take a look:

Micro-interactions
These features are subtle, yet effective when designing websites. They can be easy to integrate and can make your site stand out from the rest. They can be used as guides, ways to give feedback or display additional information, and make general website usability enjoyable and more captivating. This can be achieved through hover animations or button animations, and will subtly make your site more interactive.
3D graphics
3D graphics are an excellent way to bring your site to life, through subtle or extravagant 3-dimensional effects. They are perfect to create a sense of realism, making your website more memorable to viewers. For example, displaying a product can be more interesting when made 3-dimensional, injecting life into the website. In addition, with technology advancing and browser capability improving, 3D illustrations are also advancing and becoming more accessible, allowing for more freedom when designing and adding them to sites.
Geometric patterns
Geometric patterns are interesting ways to rejig your website. Whether they have a specific function, such as to display information or navigate around a specific page, or are simply integrated for aesthetics, they are great for adding extra memorable detail.
