Whether you’re just starting out as an SME, or your business has long been established, you’ll probably want to know what the optimum amount you should be posting on your socials is.
Finding that sweet spot can certainly feel tricky. As a business owner, you’re naturally passionate about what you do – but posting too much can feel as though you’re bombarding your followers.
Equally, not posting enough can impact your visibility against better-performing pages, running the risk of becoming drowned out by the noise of louder-shouting competitors.
So, how do you find that perfect balance? Well, it depends where you’re posting.
Different social media platforms have varying frequency suggestions. For example, research suggests that businesses should post around 1-2 times a day on Facebook, and if you use Instagram, that figure is more likely to be around 3-5 times a week.
Confusing? Below is a quick summary of the suggested frequency for each platform:
• Facebook: 1 to 2 times per day.
• Instagram: 3 to 5 times per week.
• X (Twitter): 2 and 3 times per day.
• LinkedIn: 1 to 2 times per day.
• Threads: 2 to 3 times per day.
• TikTok: 3 to 5 times per week.
• Google My Business: At least once per week.
So, how can you make the most out of your socials?
Firstly, be consistent. Try to post regularly, at around the same time each day. Not only will this help you make it into a habit, but if you time it right, you can also hit peak traffic where your audience is concerned. According to findings, the optimum time to post is during midweek days in the mornings (7am – to 9am), early afternoons (1pm – 3 pm), and in the evenings (7pm – 9 pm).
Also, by making use of platforms such as Meta Business Suite, this allows you to post on more than one platform simultaneously, saving you time.
