Google’s latest update to its AI (artificial intelligence) image generation in ads can now produce people and faces based on the user’s request.
Having recently updated its Imagen 3 AI model, Google has stated it is:
“Now rolling out the ability to use text prompts to generate images that contain adult people and faces across Performance Max, Demand Gen, Display and Apps campaigns.”
Users can now input specific instructions to generate their ideal image; for example, “middle aged woman browsing on a computer.” This provides users the platform to produce whatever kind of image they need, allowing them to customise age, gender and ethnicity, while still maintaining control of what is included.
Google has, however, included safeguarding to prevent misuse. This includes restrictions around using brand names, as well as users not being able to create images using politicians, celebrities, minors and explicit content.
This new model will be beneficial as it allows companies to generate images that include realistic-looking humans, without the need to spend time and money on photoshoots. Not only will it be a money and time saver, but it will also offer flexibility in creating unique, targeted ad content.
Furthermore, this will mean advertisers can swap their images effortlessly to test different demographics and variables, within a matter of minutes.
Google has also claimed that you will begin to see AI-generated suggestions to help produce new ideas without having to find and create this information from scratch.
Overall, this could be a useful addition to the platform as it could significantly cut production time and costs, while simultaneously presenting high quality content that meets Google’s safety parameters.
