With many different marketing methods out there designed to help you reach your desired target audience, it’s easy to disregard the potential benefits of email marketing.
When done right, however, email marketing is still an effective and potentially highly profitable method of finding valuable leads. In this blog, we’re providing some key tips to ensure you can create successful email marketing campaigns – some tips of what to do, some of what NOT to do.
Do: provide helpful and relevant content
People don’t want useless and unrelated emails clogging up their inbox. If that’s what you are providing people, chances are there is either an issue with what you’re sending out, or an issue with who your emails are being sent to.
Either way, sending emails that build trust and authority with your customer base is the best way to avoid your contacts unsubscribing from your email list en masse.
Don’t: send too few emails (or too many!)
If you’re not sending emails regularly enough, you risk becoming irrelevant to your target audience, especially if the emails you do send aren’t receiving any interactions.
Email providers often track engagement metrics such as open rates, and poor results can result in your emails not even reaching your customers’ inboxes.
At the same time, a well-thought-out email strategy is likely to involve less frequent emails, sent to segmented, actively engaged audiences. Doing this allows you to target the sections of your audience with the best chance of being converted.
Do: use reactivation techniques
It’s very unlikely that you’ll manage to keep your entire email list as engaged recipients, so running a reactivation sequence is a great way to optimise the quality of the leads in your email list. Doing this involves sending tailored emails designed to entice non-engaged recipients to interact with an email. If these reactivation emails aren’t successful with these recipients, they will eventually be removed from your email list.
Email marketing can be a fruitful endeavour for your business, but seeing great results requires an effective and well-planned strategy.
