Simply Accounts had an existing website, but it did not portray the company in the way owners Mike and Sally Wilson wanted, and they felt it failed to portray their personality. They approached us looking for a vivid website with the company’s main branding colours displayed front and centre.
In the quest for a personal touch, helping clients and answering the main questions that come up, Simply Accounts was happy to give us plenty of creative freedom when it came to the layout of the site. Curved and flowy shapes lend themselves to a modern and friendly look, with large typography used throughout to clearly define the hierarchy between the elements. We also used some overlapping sections to make parts of the site flow from one another in a more natural way. Some minor animations are used on the site to draw attention to important sections, but these are kept to a minimum to avoid a chaotic interface when paired with the vivid colours.
When writing the content, the client wanted to get across the message that what they do is professional and is backed up by knowledge and experience. At the same time, it was important to stress that they simplify matters for their clients, hence the company name. This meant finding a careful balance between high-level accounting language and clearly explaining the benefits in a way businesses, landlords and sole traders could understand.
We worked closely with the Simply Accounts team and used their resources to fine-tune the content, and wanted to deliver some personality as well. The bios on the About Us page were put together based on brief notes supplied by the client and help put a face to the team, giving insight into both their professional and personal lives.
The result is what the client describes as a “beautiful website” that captures the specialisms and individuality of Simply Accounts.
