Pure Maple quite aptly describes itself as the Rolls-Royce of maple syrup, so naturally, the company needed a website that exudes the appropriate level of class and luxury. Luckily, our golden web developers were on hand to deliver exactly this for them.
When building the Pure Maple site, the main focus needed to be on the products and their new packaging, which already came with very strong branding. As part of their new packaging and logo, they’ve also had multiple assets created, which we’ve made come to life during the design stage.
The top of the website puts the focus straight on the products, while also evoking a sense of familiarity due to the layout strongly resembling the packaging itself. We’ve also introduced animations on this top section, making the brand elements come to life via subtle movement.
This top section purely focuses on the main message, with a clear call to action leading straight to the shop page. As visitors scroll down, the branding of the page is kept strong, with the trademark company colours featured throughout, accompanied by the company’s main font used for headings and core content. There is a strong reliance on headings, making it easy to navigate and identify individual sections.
We’ve also used custom icons to represent each core product with tags. To help make this clearer, we’ve created custom tooltips that help with accessibility and mitigate any potential confusion when it comes to the icons.
The site relies strongly on the client’s existing recipe library, which features more than 100 custom recipes that use their products. We’ve created a custom and easy-to-scan library where visitors can easily find specific recipes based on what they’re looking for, with options such as breakfast, baking, drinks and more.
The company is active on social media, namely Instagram, so we’ve pulled in their latest posts displaying eye-catching professional product photos, so there is always new content on the homepage worth coming back to. As the company also has great Google reviews, we have displayed these on the site as well, helping to show how customers find not just each product, but also their experience with the company overall.
The company has a large existing email list that the new site helps to expand, offering 10% off for new signups straight from the homepage.
In terms of the eCommerce functionality, the website sells food products; however, with the new website, they also have the option to offer subscriptions and repeating orders for any product on a four and six-weekly basis. This works well for their existing clientele, and the discount the company offers for these repeated orders also makes it an appealing option.
The checkout is simple and quick, allowing users to complete their purchase using Apple or Google Pay. We’ve also implemented an address lookup feature, making it easy and quick for customers to fill in their shipping details by looking up their address. As the website is linked closely with multiple warehousing software, we’ve made sure that all necessary product details are set up and working correctly.
As a brand that prides itself on authenticity, Pure Maple deserves a website that accurately captures its unique place in the world of Canadian cuisine. We’re certain the new website is just as delicious as Pure Maple’s offerings (believe us, we’ve tried some of them!).
