Entrepreneur shortlisted for top North West business award

Cheshire and the Wirral, September 13th 2012: Lianne Wilkinson, MD of Ellesmere Port based Engage Web, has been nominated and shortlisted for the award of Female Entrepreneur of the Year by EN for Business, an Excel Publishing publication. The accolade, which is widely regarded as the top honour for entrepreneurs in the North West, is in its 11th year, and the winner will be announced on the evening of October 18th at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa.

Engage Web, which was founded in 2009 by Lianne with co-owner Darren Jamieson, sees more than 20 years’ of combined experience in SEO (search engine optimisation) and online marketing and advertising forming the bedrock of the company. Major international businesses as well as local start-ups have seen excellent improvements in their Google rankings and increased exposure worldwide from their partnership with the company.

Driven by her desire to provide an ethical approach to search engine optimisation and marketing, she has been instrumental in the company’s turnover and profits doubling year on year – an expansion that has seen the number of staff increase more than two-fold, from three to eight. As well as developing a global network of top notch freelance writers, she has overseen the expansion of the business into the US, Canada and Australia thanks to innovative products such as Press Room and Franchise SEO.
