Ecommerce plugin for WordPress WooCommerce has now launched a new extension that will allow its users to upload their products to Google.
With the free extension, those online retailers that use WooCommerce will be able to display their products for free across many Google platforms, including Google Shopping, Search, YouTube and Images. In addition, they can create paid ad campaigns and track the performance.
Called Google Listings & Ads, the extension has three key goals to help its users: ensuring a seamless connection with their online shops and Google Merchant Center, providing free listings to reach more people online and the ability to boost sales and store traffic using “Smart Shopping” campaigns.
When a retailer connects their online shop with Google Merchant Center, customers will be able to see all of the shop’s products and information via Google’s platforms. When any products are added or removed from the shop via WooCommerce, this will automatically update on Google.
All shops are opted into free listings automatically, with all products that are in stock appearing in Google’s Shopping tab. From this, retailers can opt to run an ad campaign, promoting their products across Shopping, Search, Gmail, YouTube and Google’s Display Network, and they’ll also be able to connect the extension to their Google Ad account. Once they’ve connected their ad account, they can select a budget and launch campaigns – all from the WooCommerce dashboard.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, online shopping has surged, and it’s been more important than ever for retailers to establish an online presence to reach their customers. This new extension from WooCommerce is one more tool online retailers will have in their arsenal to get their products seen online.
