Google has announced that its July 2022 product reviews update is being released, and this will take two to three weeks to fully roll out.
This update is the fourth version of the product reviews update, which is targeted at ranking product review-related content within search results in order of most useful to searchers. The first product reviews update was released back in April 2021.
Google announced the update on its Google Search Central Twitter account with a reference for SEOs to visit its help documents to see the best practices around writing product reviews:

What’s changing in the update?
The update is only a refinement to improve the previous three updates. The algorithm is used to reward reviews that share in-depth research, rather than thin content (that just summarises information from a manufacturer’s website).
Has the guidance been updated?
There is no new guidance on this update, only that websites that publish reviews are encouraged to continue to focus on the stringent criteria for high-quality content. Google really wants to see that you have tested and experimented with the product, which will help you to improve your review’s performance in search results.
Who will be impacted?
This update will only affect websites that have product reviews. If your website doesn’t have any product reviews, you don’t need to worry about this update as it won’t affect your website.
