As Apple continues to compete against Google, the updated version of iOS 6 will be introduced without the inclusion of the YouTube app. As the launch date approaches for iOS 6, a YouTube app has been launched by Google which will work independently. Design and channel browsing has been improved on the stand alone version of Google’s YouTube app.
Although users may have the YouTube app on their iPhone right now, the latest software for Apple iPhone will be YouTube free. According to Apple, YouTube hasn’t been blocked and can still be reached using Safari. However, for added convenience for users, Google has launched a new stand alone YouTube app. The app can be obtained free of charge on the iPod Touch and iPhone. There will also be a version released which has been optimised for the iPad.
The good news for fans of the YouTube app is that the navigation is much easier, while it is easier to find and subscribe to various new channels. The removal of the YouTube app follows Apple replacing Google Maps with its own software for mapping. Although Google hasn’t been prevented from creating new iOS apps completely, Apple certainly appears to be fighting against its competitors.
The removal of the YouTube app from Apple’s iPhone could have a significant effect on a business as SEO incorporates videos on YouTube. It may be necessary for some companies to revisit their search engine optimisation strategy and make changes. Companies all over the UK could be affected by this latest development, including businesses in Chester.
