Google to bring AI Mode advertising to the UK

SEO News 3

Google has announced that advertising within its AI Mode search experience is expanding internationally, with the UK set to be included before the end of 2026.

In an announcement published on 28 October, Google confirmed that advertising in AI Mode is being rolled out to additional countries, including Australia, Canada and India, with the UK, Brazil and Mexico set to follow before the end of the year.

Google’s AI Mode allows users to ask detailed questions and receive AI (artificial intelligence)-generated answers, rather than simply browsing through a list of traditional search results.

According to Google, searches made through AI Mode are, on average, three times longer than searches made in the traditional way, showcasing how people are increasingly turning to AI to answer their questions and research products, services and businesses.

The introduction of ads into AI Mode shows just how seriously Google is taking the growth of AI-powered search, and it’s clear that this new form of search is becoming an increasingly important part of digital marketing. As more people turn to AI for recommendations and answers, businesses will need to consider how visible they are within these platforms, both through paid ads and organic results.

At Engage Web, we’re already helping businesses adapt to this changing search landscape through our GEO (generative engine optimisation) and SEO (search engine optimisation) services, working to improve their visibility within both AI-generated answers and search engines as a whole. Want to increase your business’ chance of being found and cited by AI? Speak to our team to see how we can help.
