Our developers are expected to be pro-active. Your ideas will be valued and you will be encouraged to perfect new strategies and respond to changes in search engine algorithms. You will need to assist in identifying, investigating and implementing new strategies in conjunction with our R&D processes. Duties of role

Working alongside the Technical Director, as a Creative Developer, you will take a proactive approach to your work and client support. Your ideas will be valued and you will be encouraged to perfect new strategies and respond to changes in search engine algorithms. You will need to assist in identifying, investigating and implementing new strategies in conjunction with internal R&D processes. Your responsibilities and duties will include, although not be limited to:

•    Working on a variety of projects and on different platforms, such as WordPress and in-house systems
•    Performing on-site search engine optimisation for clients, set strategies and perform link audits
•    Working with WordPress plug-ins, XML feeds, customising templates and building websites
•    Involvement with web design projects and development, whilst considering SEO implications and remaining aware of cross-browser/platform compatibility
•    Meeting with and updating clients on project progress
•    Liaising closely with colleagues to ensure delivery of the highest standard of service

To be considered for the role of Creative Developer you will have the following experience, knowledge, skills, and attributes:

•    Foundation of experience working within a similar creative development role or be a graduate within a related discipline
•    A genuine interest in Social Media for business
•    Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP5 and MySQL
•    Working knowledge of WordPress (Installation and Theming) and Adobe Photoshop
•    Passion and enthusiasm for the Internet and highly self-motivated
•    Ability to think creatively with a proven record of innovation
•    Ability to analyse and identify requirements and work towards solutions
•    Firm understanding of the Internet and strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility
•    Excellent communication skills with ability to build effective client relationships both over the telephone and in person
•    Ability to work on own initiative and within a development team
•    Excellent attention to detail and a can-do attitude
•    Strong organisation and project management skills and driven to achieve results within tight timelines
•    Good standard of written English – spelling and grammar
•    High level of PC literacy – Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Comfortable working in a small, friendly environment

The following knowledge and skills would be advantageous although not essential:

•    Familiarity with Google Webmaster Tools, SEO related tools such as Majestic SEO and Open Site Explorer
•    Understanding of .htaccess, responsive design, designing for various platforms (such as tablets and mobiles)
•    Experience with APIs, Ajax, and various internet CMS, such as Joomla and Magento
•    Knowledge or experience of different website hosting platforms and experience with cPanel and phpMyAdmin
•    Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, JavaScript, ISS5.5 or above, VB Script and Advanced DNS configuration
•    Ability to demonstrate consideration for SEO implications and cross-browser compatibility

Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience + bonus
Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire
Duration: Permanent
Hours: 35hrs per week (Mon – Fri 9am-5pm)
