Business networking platform LinkedIn appears to finally be addressing one of its pitfalls – the lack of a native scheduling feature.
As reported by Social Media Today, this new feature was spotted by the keen eyes of Nima Owji, an app researcher. In the screenshot shared, next to the ‘Post’ button in the ‘Create a post’ pop-up, a clock icon appears.
At the moment, this feature appears to be in testing, and therefore is not available to all users as of yet. Indeed, in a statement to Social Media Today, LinkedIn said that:
“We’re working to bring native post scheduling to members and pages soon. Stay tuned for updates on future rollout plans.”
This feature spells great news for LinkedIn users, as currently, there’s no way to schedule posts on LinkedIn without enlisting a third-party platform – which can be unreliable and can involve extra charges.
The benefits of scheduling posts are plentiful – it means you can maintain an online presence even when out of the office, and schedule posts for optimal engagement times, when you might otherwise be unavailable. It also helps you to plan ahead, ensuring you can maintain a consistent online presence and meaning you don’t have to take time out of each day to post – you can simply schedule a week’s worth of posts, or more, in one go.
LinkedIn’s statement is rather vague, and so at present, there’s no saying when exactly this feature will be rolled out to all users – but it’s well worth keeping an eye on.
