As proud supporters of the incredible work done by our local hospice, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, we were delighted to help them put their brand new website together.
The Hospice approached us with an existing website that was somewhat bloated in terms of pages and was visually bland. Their main purpose was to give the website a facelift, while also making it feel more welcoming and positive.
Visually, the change of fonts to a friendlier, thicker font instantly made the website more welcoming in approach. This, paired with a clearly legible sans-serif font for the general text, makes it easy to find information. This friendliness was emphasised by the bright blues and yellows that are widely used by the Hospice and fit in with their brand.
There was a lack of testimonials and real stories on the old website, so we’ve introduced a slider on the homepage, as well as a dedicated page that displays what patients of the Hospice and their loved ones have had to say.
When it comes to features, the website is bursting with added functionality: an e-commerce section; multiple forms for signing up for different events, all with custom requirements; a list of events with the option to sign up online; and a list of lottery winners with link to their lottery platform. The website also shows the latest posts shared on Instagram, as the Hospice is very active on there.
We’ve also restructured the website, condensing the pre-existing 140 pages into around 20 relevant ones with the same information, making it much easier to find the relevant information people are looking for.
Now, the Hospice is equipped with a suitably welcoming and friendly website to go along with the tremendous, dignified services they provide and the work they do within the community.
