West Cheshire Athletic Club (WCAC) came to Engage Web because we’d been recommended. The current website was regularly updated with fixtures and results, but the design hadn’t been updated for a number of years and was looking tired and dated.
At the same time, they wanted to update the club’s image. The previous branding was outdated and didn’t reflect the achievements of the club or its background, and the committee felt it was falling behind the look of competing clubs.
Engage Web worked with WCAC to figure out a clear and defined brief for what they wanted to achieve. The new branding needed to give a nod to the club’s history and raise the club’s profile to attract new members.
The new website has a real visual focus. Headers use movement to give the most impact to photos of active members.
For a small club like WCAC, keeping running costs to a minimum was key so every section of the website can be updated by the client – including the moving header images, the event calendar and fixtures and results. Several members of the club received face-to-face training from Engage Web on how to do this.
Naturally, the new website is fully responsive and, due to the large size of the images, certain aspects are dropped from the smaller resolution screens to ensure optimal loading speed.
