Project Glass Goggle latest development from Google X

Posted on April 14, 2012

The latest development to be produced at the secret laboratory located at Google headquarters, Googleplex is glasses that will allow users to browse the Internet. The wraparound style glasses were revealed on Google+, where a video gives the perspective of a user as they tour New York. The user takes pictures, receives messages from a friend and speaks commands.

The shades are the latest addition to a number of futuristic developments produced by the Google X laboratory in Mountain View, California. The latest offering is part of Project Glass and creates “augmented reality” which is integrated into the experience of the user. The “augmented reality” builds on the real world around the user, using graphics which are superimposed and information which is generated by a computer. According to the three team leaders of Google X:

“We think technology should work for you- to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t. A group of us from Google (x) started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment.”

Pictures of the glasses displayed on the Google+ page indicate a small digital display, which is attached to the glasses. Larry Page, the chief executive of Google, still gives commitment from Google employees to projects of the future, although some of the projects have received cutbacks.

Google certainly seems to be at the centre of innovation, leading the way for businesses all around the world, which is why the company plays a central role in any SEO campaign, whether in Cheshire or China.
