HTC introduces tailored news feeds to mid-range phones

Mobile connectivity and the importance of content creation was put into the spotlight once again this month, as HTC announced it is to deliver its premier news feed services to its mid-range products.

The firm’s then UK and Ireland boss, Phil Robertson, indicated that all devices could soon be featuring Blinkfeed and Ultrapixel too, saying:

“Wherever the technology is possible, we’re looking to take as much of the technology and enrich all of our customers.”

The news will be welcomed by HTC fans. The HTC One is lauded in many circles for the features it has, but the cost of the device can limit the number of people able to access the suite.

There may be issues unlocking Ultrapixel, such is the technological complexity the camera feature relies upon. It is likely a streamlined version will be the first offering. Robertson explained:

“There will be certain technical challenges, but the tech does support the other elements of it which we can take to other parts of the portfolio.”

It is a big announcement from the Taiwanese firm, which presently finds itself struggling financially. However, it is not going to be all plain sailing, with Robertson leaving the company just days after the announcement was made.

However, with HTC still considered a major force in android hardware, the developments put further emphasis on the importance of high quality content. With users given the ability to filter the content they have access to, more focus must be put on ensuring content engages users. Many business owners enlist the help of news writing services to ensure this is the case.
