Ellesmere Port, UK, April 29th, 2019: Engage Web, an innovative Cheshire-based online marketing firm specialising in content development and web design, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month with a novelty birthday cake, social media competition and free website for a local charity.
The company has been based at the Stanlaw Abbey Business Centre in Ellesmere Port for over nine years. In recognition of this strong relationship, it is creating a website for the centre’s charity. Among the Stanlaw Abbey Development Trust’s initiatives are its community Christmas Toy Appeal, Easter egg collection and the supply of hampers to Ellesmere Port families in need.
Followers of the company’s social media accounts can also benefit from Engage Web’s generosity thanks to a novel online competition. Participants are challenged to count how many ‘tens’ they see and hear in a company video, with £100 in gift vouchers up for grabs.
On Monday, April 29th, Engage Web also showed its appreciation to its staff, who enjoyed a special birthday cake created by Liverpool-based Belle Bakery Cakes.
Engage Web was founded in April 2009 by Managing Director Lianne Wilkinson and Technical Director Darren Jamieson. Wilkinson said:
“We’re really proud to be celebrating a full 10 years as a business, and we wanted to do something that shows how much we appreciate our staff, our clients and social media followers, and give something back to the Ellesmere Port community.
“Online marketing is a fast-moving sector and has changed considerably since 2009, but one thing that hasn’t changed is our focus on engagement – both in the sites we build and the ethos at the heart of our company.”

2019 marks the tenth anniversary of Engage Web. We first opened our doors on April 29th, 2009, and we’ve never looked back since.
In that time we’ve worked with a lot of great clients, built a lot of great websites and helped a lot of great businesses become even greater.
Five years ago we celebrated our 5th birthday with a cake and a competition, you may remember it here. For our tenth birthday we thought we’d do something a little bit bigger. Sure, there’s still cake. We do like cake.
Mmmm… cake.
We have however gone bigger with the competition. In the video below you’ll see our technical director, Darren, explaining how we’re 10 years old and what we’ve done over the years, but he also says the number ’10’ rather a lot. In fact, he says it more times than you’d think possible for such a short video. What we’d like you to do is count how many times he says 10, and how many times 10 is displayed on the screen.
Add them together and comment on our Facebook or Twitter with your answer. It’s not as easy as it sounds, as the ’10’ could be in the middle of another word.
Important point: don’t count the subtitles as extra. They’re purely there to echo what has been said. Do count any visuals, anytime the word spoken contains a ‘ten’ or anytime the number 10 is mentioned. Also look out for ’10’ being made with hands. That’s a ten as well!
On October 10th this year we’ll reveal the answer on our social media, and on here, and we’ll select 10 winners to receive the prizes based on who is correct, or closest with their answers.
Please give the video a share as well. There are 10 prizes up for grabs so if you know a friend who would also like to win, let them know!
