    Police issue warning of Valentine’s Day scam

    Police in Surrey have issued a warning to users of online dating to be aware of a scam in the run up to Valentine’s Day. Police warn that a number of online daters in Surrey have fallen prey to the fraudsters who are posing as soldiers from the United States who are stationed in Afghanistan. The bogus soldiers use identities of genuine soldiers to persuade innocent people to part with large sums of money.

    Duplicated content tackled by Google

    In an attempt to reduce the amount of spam and websites with content copied from other websites, Google have made updates to the search algorithms. In recent months, it has become evident that the amount of spam has increased, resulting in a need to take a stand against those that continue to rely on copied content for their websites. According to Matt Cutts, webmaster guideline enforcer for Google, the websites that have very little original content will be omitted from the search results.

    Facebook updates Facebook Pages

    Facebook today made an update to Facebook Pages to bring it in line with profile pages. The new layout for Facebook Pages, which officially goes live on March 10th, is being trialled by a few pages already as page owners have the option of previewing the updates, or accepting them straight away.
