Why you should always repurpose great content

Why you should always repurpose great content

Like all good things, building an online presence takes time.

This doesn’t mean, however, you need to be struggling to come up with new ideas for content on a daily basis to keep the ball rolling.

If, for example, you or a colleague have written a particularly engaging Facebook post that has gained a lot of traction – it doesn’t have to stop there!

If you know a certain subject is popular with your audience – it may, for example, answer a frequently asked question many of your target consumers have – there’s no reason you can’t repurpose the same blog post for use in other forms of media.

Blog posts

If you’ve put a post out there on social media that has gained unexpected attention, such as a viral Tweet, this is a great opportunity to take your content a step further.

By exploring the original social media post more in-depth, in the form of long-form content, you can drive more people through to your website by pointing to it from the original platform. This, in turn, will help to organically increase awareness of your brand, simply from great content.

Podcast episode

Does your business have its own podcast?

If not, it could be time to dust off the mic and give it a go!

Not only does a podcast open you up to having great conversations with like-minded individuals, it’s also an excellent way to gradually increase your audience.

A regular podcast can help your business showcase its expertise, strengthen brand recognition and build credibility. By keeping topics fresh and varied, you can open yourself up to new audiences – who may also find you through the guest speakers you bring on.

Pulling the transcript from each episode and posting it onto a blog of its own is also excellent for SEO (search engine optimisation), as the text will likely include keywords organically – an important factor when it comes to ranking on Google.

YouTube channel

YouTube can be another fantastic asset to building awareness of your business. As with a podcast, it allows you to provide your audience with a more personalised experience, giving you the scope to tackle subjects in a more in-depth manner. It also gives your target consumers a better idea of who you are, which can be powerful in terms of marketing, as people like to buy from PEOPLE.
