Are you getting tired of waiting for a new page on your website to be shown in search results? Google has released a few tips on how to get new pages to be indexed more quickly.
Before a page is shown in search results, it must be crawled and indexed by Google. Even if your content is amazing and is destined to be at the top of Google search for your targeted keywords, it won’t be shown in the search results without being crawled first.
Even though your content may have been crawled, sometimes it may not be shown in search results straight away, or may not be shown at all, which could be something to do with the quality of your website. Checking Google Search Console is the best way to see if a page is indexed, and if it isn’t, you can find out why not.
Back in January 2021, John Mueller, Google Search Advocate, said that if you have a large website, it’s to be expected that not all pages are going to be indexed in search results. Even though Google wants to index as much as possible, it does sometimes need to check if content is useful for search engine users. This stops Google’s server storing content that doesn’t meet its users’ search requirements, resulting in the server being quicker and more environmentally friendly.
