Google Interactive TV is to be launched in the UK on 16th July. The interactive TV will present an opportunity for users to surf the Internet, watch YouTube videos and play games, all from the comfort of their television. Google Interactive TV has been available in the US for some time and is now ready for the UK.
The product will be in competition with a similar device produced by Apple, which has been available in the UK for some time. Google Interactive TV will be available for around £200, while the Apple TV is on sale for around £99. The Android software used for the TV will let users watch live TV while switching between applications like Facebook and Twitter. Google’s YouTube is to be a main feature of the interactive TV, making it possible to access a host of live concerts from all over the world, mainstream music videos and films. According to the head of global TV distribution at Google, Suveer Kuthari the introduction of the TV was “the beginning of a long journey” outlining the ambitions of Google for European TV. Kothari also added that there was a huge number of benefits to be gained by accessing the internet on TV. He added:
“Google TV attempts to address the problem that there’s not really a great experience to access the Internet on your TV screen, which is a similar problem we saw in the smartphone market five years ago.”
Google is making it easier to access the internet, games, music videos and more, which is why Google and its requirements always feature strongly in any company’s SEO campaign.

TV is one place where Apple have fallen behind, although the infrastructure of the Google Play etc would allow for a much better product. I tip Google TV to be big.
