Small businesses helped by Google mobile resource

More than half of all people in the UK own a smartphone according to recent data. Google has collaborated with the Mobile Marketing Association to launch a revised style of ‘Our Mobile Planet’, which is a resource that provides consumer information in 40 countries. ‘Our Mobile Planet’ will help businesses enter the mobile market successfully.

According to the Global CEO of MMA, Greg Stuart, the new resource will help businesses to understand the mobile consumer market, creating charts which can be used to analyse consumer behaviour and back up decisions made using relevant data. ‘Our Mobile Planet’ was first launched in October 2011 at the MMA Forum which was held in London. Research of smartphones has been carried out by a collaboration of the MMA, Google and Ipsos MediaCT. Users will be able to access the research carried out across 40 countries free of charge.

Reports from ‘Our Mobile Planet’ indicate that the UK, Sweden, Australia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Norway have the most smartphone users, with more than half their population having a smartphone. New Zealand, the US, Ireland, Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain all have more than 40 percent of users owning a smartphone.

Mobile marketing must improve if businesses are to succeed in this area. Google is an important aspect of any SEO campaign, whether in Chester or the US, as it plays a huge role in all aspects of search engine optimisation. Mobile has to be included in a company’s marketing campaign to ensure success.
