Social media management system Hootsuite has revealed that users of its platform can now incorporate popular photo-sharing website Instagram to its system.
Hootsuite is a tool utilised by many search engine optimisation companies and businesses with an active social media presence as a key part of their internet marketing strategies, in a bid to interact with customers and build their online reputation.
The online management tool allows its users to organise and manage a variety of social media channels, including both Facebook and Twitter, from the one platform. It allows users to schedule content to go live at a desired time and has the capability to allow you to respond to queries and send messages.
Prior to this new update, users were only able to monitor the comments left on the photo service and other certain terms. However, now that the Facebook-owned site has opened its API (Application Program Interface), Hootsuite is able to offer its users full control over Instagram accounts from the system’s dashboard.
Users of the system will be able to track the engagement of their Instagram posts and share account access amongst administrators. However, Hootsuite has warned that scheduling photos to be published is not as easy as it would appear, as content can’t be sent to its scheduler function. Hootsuite simply acts a reminder to manually publish content.
This latest move should prove to be beneficial to those who use the site to manage their social media accounts on the platform, as the need to promote events and products on social media becomes more important to businesses.
