Search engine Google recently announced the rollout of its June 2021 Core Update. However, this time, we can expect two core updates in close succession, as Danny Sullivan, Google’s search liaison, announced on Twitter that a July core update will also be released next month.
Google’s core algorithm update for this month started rolling out on Wednesday, 2nd June, about six months after its previous core update in December 2020. The search giant announced this update on Twitter to notify users of the changes that may occur, while also announcing the following update to be released in July:
Later today, we are releasing a broad core update, as we do several times per year. It is called the June 2021 Core Update. Our guidance about such updates is here:https://t.co/e5ZQUA3RC6
This will be followed by the July 2021 Core update. Here’s more information about that…

Two core updates being released back-to-back has never been seen before by Google, as they’re usually released every few months or so. Sullivan explained the reasoning behind part two of the update in a tweet subsequent to the announcement:
Some of our planned improvements for the June 2021 update aren’t quite ready, so we’re moving ahead with the parts that are, then we will follow with the rest with the July 2021 update. Most sites won’t notice either of these updates, as is typical with any core updates….

Google’s updates have been known to have an impact on sites’ search rankings and performance. They usually take around one to two weeks to fully roll out, so you may not see any changes as of yet.
However, Google has released a guide, ‘What webmasters should know about Google’s core updates’, about recovering your overall site after a potential fall from a core update.
Since the update on Wednesday, users haven’t seen much change in their data, taking to Twitter to reassure others.
Had a very quick look at client data this morning and so far I'm not seeing any obvious significant movement.
Something to note if you are looking at client data to determine if the core update hit is that last weekend was a holiday in the US (and the prev one was in Canada).

Quick update: All silent on the core update front so far, which isn't surprising given the late rollout (about 6:40PM ET last night). I've checked a # of sites this morning & hourly Google organic trending looks very stable so far. I'll post another update as more data comes in: pic.twitter.com/60QuqvpQR7
