Google helps Merseyside business get online

Google helps Merseyside business get online

A three month programme has been launched by the search engine giant, Google to help Merseyside catch up with other cities online. The programme will consist of workshops and events that will help Liverpool to get its businesses online.

Google hopes to help approximately 1500 businesses in the area, with free consultations offered as part of the initiative. Google will partner with local agencies, including Liverpool’s Federation for Small Businesses, Business Link North West, Women in Business and Liverpool Chamber of Commerce. The scheme has been launched to help more businesses benefit from the Internet as a marketing tool, increasing online sales and maximising business potential. This is thought to be the first scheme of its kind in the United Kingdom to help businesses to create an online presence and maximise opportunities once online.

The services will be delivered by a mobile Google ‘juice bar’, which will be on the road for three months, travelling around Liverpool to give digital health checks and provide advice. According to the head of small business initiatives for Google UK, Raja Saggi this is the first time that Google have launched events to help just one city. He added that, in conjunction with their partners they would be working hard to improve the Internet economy for Liverpool over the next few months. It is hoped that this initiative will help Liverpool to catch up to their business competitors when using the Internet for business.

Whether your business is in Scotland or Liverpool, an online presence is essential to maximise revenue. For this reason, search engine optimisation plays a key role in any business.
