Google Adsense now in local currencies

For many, one of the easiest ways of making money online has been with Google Adsense. Google’s own advertising channel has allowed website owners to maximise their website’s earning potential by making money from their content by simply pasting a small piece of Google ad code into their pages and have Google ads served up automatically based on their content.

There’s no need to mess around with adverts or even worry about what is being displayed when and where. You just write more content on your website, which in turn creates more adverts from Google, and you receive money every time someone clicks on the ads.

One of the problems with Google Adsense over the years has been the fact that it uses US dollars as a currency, which means that your earnings as a UK publisher are subject to the dollar fluctuations, and more specifically, the pound sterling fluctuations. This meant that money you earned in Adsense last year was considerably less than it was a few years ago because of the weak pound.

  • […] However, the reporting interface for Google AdSense (the programme that allows webmasters to earn money from their websites) has barely changed for years. It’s become something of a comfy old blanket, with the only change of note in recent months being the switch to local currencies. […]
