Fury as redundancy letter to editors contains errors

A letter sent to the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) representative created uproar, as the missive was found to contain seven spelling and grammatical errors. Regional publisher, Archant Norfolk, has announced plans to restructure the editorial team, which would result in the loss of up to 20 editors. To add insult to injury, the letter which was sent to the union representative contained misspelt words, obviously not having been edited before issuing.

The company has said that the new structure would lead to the creation of a new digital department, with more emphasis on the weekly titles. The letter was sent to Father of Chapel Pete Kelley, who was left wondering whether the decision to axe editors was a sound judgement, considering the quality of the letter. The proposals could have dire consequences for the employees and the publications affected. The staff are already working extra hours just to maintain the current standards, so further losses could prove disastrous.

The spelling and grammatical errors in the letter have reflected badly upon the company, who obviously didn’t check the letter properly before sending. The letter has resulted in embarrassment for the company, reflecting badly upon its image, both with staff and customers. The website of a business can have the same effect, with poor grammar and spelling errors creating a bad impression on customers. If you outsource content writing to a professional writer, you will be guaranteed that the copy will be original, creative and always checked thoroughly by an in-house editor.
