A recent survey of more than 1,000 Facebook sellers has revealed that almost half are optimistic about the coming holiday season. The F-Commerce Facts survey carried out by Payvment indicates that half the sellers on Facebook expect sales to increase in comparison to last year, while just under half are planning promotions in preparation for the holiday season.
Most of the Facebook sellers are small businesses which have less than 500 fans on Facebook. The CEO of Payvment, Jim Stoneham believes that the last Monday before the big day could turn out to be ‘Facebook Monday’ as a number of businesses continue to promote and sell products on the site. According to the survey results, Facebook Ads continues to be a popular platform for businesses which also market their companies using other social media platforms. Social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google+ are all utilized as part of a company’s SEO strategy, whether the company is in Liverpool UK or LA.
The survey results also revealed that Twitter has taken second place for marketing, just behind Facebook, which has 80 per cent of Facebook sellers marketing their stores by using posts on the social media site. Pinterest has also become a popular medium for marketing, with 20 per cent of sellers using the site. Social media plays an integral role in search engine optimisation, in addition to being used as a direct marketing tool. Sellers stated that being able to sell products on Facebook was a huge advantage.
