Facebook introduces CTA buttons for company pages

Social networking site Facebook has just added a new feature to its commercial services to help facilitate interaction between customers and businesses.

The new call-to-action (CTA) buttons will come in seven different settings, including “Book Now”, “Watch Video” and “Play Game”, meaning that companies will hopefully find it much easier to get their content out to the public.

With the internet marketing arena being hotly contested, especially between the individual social platforms themselves, this could give Facebook the edge it needs to beat out its competitors while still providing a quality service to clients.

The CTA buttons, which will be available free of charge on business pages, can be created through a brief, three-step process. However, it should be noted that at the time of writing, the process is still being rolled out to all commercial users.

Firstly, users that want a CTA button on their company profile should go to its cover picture and click the icon that reads “Create Call-to-Action”. Next, they will be prompted to choose one of the seven CTAs and then insert a URL for it to lead to. Facebook will make a suggestion for which it thinks would be the best destination for the link, but this can be edited. Lastly, all the user has to do is click “Create”.

This easy process, combined with the multitude of website marketing options this function can provide, should see the new feature taken up by the platform’s professional members quite readily.
