Embarrassment for hotel chain as spelling errors found in promotion

The latest campaign for the Premier Inn chain of hotels had to be removed as it was found to contain numerous spelling errors. Lenny Henry, who has appeared in the popular ads for the last two years, has declined to comment on the errors. The latest advertisement shows an image of a map of Great Britain, with various place names marking the hotel locations. Several of these place names are spelt incorrectly include Isle of Wight, which is spelt Isle of White.

Scarborough, Peterborough and Livingston are other places which have been wrongly spelt. Premier Inn have placed the blame firmly with the advertising agency who produced the advert. The campaign has had to be removed so that the mistakes can be rectified. A spokesperson for Premier Inn said:

“We are rectifying the spelling mistakes immediately and we are sending our agency a dictionary.”

This has caused huge embarrassment for the company, with spelling errors appearing towards the end of the commercial. It is this kind of mistake that can cause damage to the reputation of a business. Whether you are creating an advertising campaign, web copy or articles to appear elsewhere on the Internet, it is essential that all copy is spelt correctly. Professional copywriters have the knowledge of English grammar and can spell correctly, in addition to having their work proofread by an editor. Outsourcing to an article writing service can save any potential embarrassment, while building your brand name.
