Digital marketing has become a necessity in recent years, with it being an excellent way to boost your profile and presence in the online world.
Although it can have many benefits, and can help to massively grow your business, it isn’t always a smooth journey. In this blog, we’ll take a look at some of digital marketing’s biggest challenges.
Google is becoming more stubborn
Google’s rise to the top of the search engine league has been achieved by its ability to deliver a great service to its users by providing them with exactly what they are looking for.
This has remained the case with the mogul constantly tweaking the algorithms, changing what they consider to be “useful content”.
While this is a positive thing, as it means that users are finding improved results based on what they’re searching for, it makes it harder for web designers and content writers to meet these requirements due to its fluctuating nature.
Therefore, content must be continuously tweaked to keep up with Google’s algorithm updates.
Google is becoming less rewarding
On top of the fact that Google is becoming harder to please from a content perspective, the search engine is not encouraging users to visit websites as much as they used to.
Analytics show that fewer users are actually clicking through to websites, as they are finding the information they need right there on the search page.
Google will tend to pull the relevant information from a web page and display it in a Q&A style section on the search page. From a user’s point of view, this is highly useful, as it provides them with the instant answers they’re looking for.
However, from a website owner’s point of view, it can be frustrating, as users are getting the information from their site, without actually clicking onto it.
How do I counteract this?
One way would be to fully embrace Google and its features.
Make sure you are utilising all the services Google has to offer, including their Google business listings. These listings will allow your business to appear down the side of a Google search, making it more likely for users to find you or your products.
