Data quality icons improved in Google Analytics 4

Google has announced that they have added a new feature to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This new feature introduces an enhanced reporting experience, especially for GA4 properties that have large and complex data.

GA4 will be the default Google Analytics version from July this year. Therefore, website owners need to make sure that by July you have GA4 setup on your website – the sooner the better. This way, you can compare your analytics data from previous data to see how well your website is growing.

Data quality icons

These icons have been previously available within the GA4 platform. However, with this new update, they have been added to each card in the reporting section so that you can more easily understand which section of the report the data quality comments are about.
The data quality functionality of GA4 helps you to check if the data being shown in your reports are complete, accurate and up-to-date. Sometimes the data in GA4 reports can be incomplete, inaccurate or not up-to-date, so this functionality is extremely helpful in this regard. Normally, you’ll see data being inaccurate if you are looking at it in a specific period and the current day is selected, as you will not have all the analytics data for that specific day.

If you’re using Google Analytics to track visitors to your website, then these new features can be useful in making sure that you’ve got accurate data, to help you make meaningful decisions for your marketing and improvements to your website.
