A recent report has shown that many companies in the UK and throughout the world are still failing to use social media to its full potential. Possibly losing out financially as a result, the findings will surprise a great many people in digital marketing.
The study, completed by Forrester, has suggested that less than half of all businesses presently use social media as part of their marketing strategy. However, though just 49% admitted this, 92% of the respondents said that social media had changed the way consumers engage with them.
As the rise of social media and other forms of digital marketing continues, it is essential that SEO campaigns exploit them to the full. From creating leads and brand awareness, to cultivating relationships, they will remain critical to business success in the future.
The Forrester report showed that nearly 60% of all consumers are regular users of social networks – where regular use is determined by accessing a platform at least once a week. Of these, a third were regularly accessing Facebook or Twitter.
Most social platforms are seen as an avenue for conversion for consumer targeted companies. However, understanding the popularity of them and how to productively use this popularity is something that is critical to B2B companies too.
Both sectors use social media to drive traffic and boost familiarity with branding. However, simply creating a presence in the sector is one of the most important aspects of social media, particularly where business to business organisations are concerned.
Business leaders are users of social media too, so understanding this could increase profits significantly.
