Ensure your website is user-friendly

While it may be tempting to cram as much information into your pages as possible, it is often far more lucrative to slim down your text, instead using a few chosen SEO- (search engine optimisation) friendly keywords to pull your target audience in.

Your viewers are unlikely to want to sit through reams of block text, so only write about what you deem is necessary. In this fast-paced society, people like to skim through websites to find what they’re looking for – so make sure they find it, without being bogged down by text.

It’s also important to consider your website’s usability across multiple platforms. Most people these days use their phones to browse the internet, so ensure your site works well on both mobile and desktop browsers.

Lastly on this topic, ensure your site is easy to navigate. Having clear buttons to access specific pages will prevent customers from going round in circles, ultimately getting frustrated with their experience and leading them to close down your page altogether.

Design a logo that is emblematic of your brand

Some brands are so synonymous with their logo, you don’t even have to see their name to know who they are.

Choosing the right logo, therefore, is crucial to your business’s success. It’s the first thing customers will see, so make sure its representative of your brand and its values.

In a similar vein, the colour palette of your brand is also imperative in creating the right impression. Choose your aesthetic and stick to it, ensuring it’s consistent across your website, any social media pages, and any physical storefronts too. The same goes for your choice of font.

Branch out with your social media

While your website can be seen as your online shop, social media is a great way to give viewers a more intimate impression of you and your team on an individual basis.

While it can be a wonderful secondary platform to promote your items, it is also a way to give your subscribers (or newcomers) a glimpse into behind the scenes. You can also offer discount codes and special offers to encourage newbies to subscribe, or reward the loyalty of long-time patrons, which may ultimately lead to higher conversation rates.
