For most of us, things that take up roughly a minute of our time might include checking e-mails, brushing your teeth or microwaving up a cold cup of coffee. For YouTube, a minute sees 100 hours’ worth of video uploads.

Twitter likely to drive traffic to car brand websites, study shows

Research into how cars and automotive brands are promoted online has suggested that Twitter users who regularly see the tweets made by car brands are 74% more likely to visit their websites.

YouTube users watch nearly 7,000 centuries’ worth of content every month

YouTube’s first official blog update for May has revealed that visitors to the site are now watching over six billion hours’ worth of content every month – a figure that adds up to a mind-boggling 684,477 years of YouTube footage.

On average, this means that every person on the planet is spending an hour per month watching YouTube, and the statistic represents a year-on-year rise of 50%, the Google-owned video sharing site says.

More employers recruit using social media

According to a survey recently conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management, an increasing number of employers are utilising the benefits of social networking sites to recruit job candidates. Social media websites are used by 77 per cent of employers who completed the SHRM survey.
